Seen above is Abhay Charan Prabhu repairing a wheel seal on Festival of India's truck, when we parked at the Atlanta Temple getting ready for the Ratha-yatra. Every year we spend literally thousands of dollars maintaining and keeping Festival of India's vehicles on the road, in safe operating condition.
Abhay Charan Prabhu, from Montreal, is the devotee who designed and built the Ratha-yatra chariots that get used at most of the Ratha-yatras in North Americe today. Abhay Charan was part of the original TRYP (Traveling Ratha-yatra Party) that was stated in 1979. After assembling/working on the original wooden carts that were used in the 70s and 80s, Abhay designed some very special chariots, made from Aluminum that can be assembled--made ready for the parade in less than two hours. The old wooden chariots required about 10 men and several days to build and take apart.

Above, Sruti KIrti Prabhu telling pastimes and of his experience of being Srila Prabhupada's personal servant for so many years. The whole weekend was packed with dramatic dance perfomances; ecstatic kirtans; sumptuous prasadam; enlightening classes. Hearing Sruti Kirti Prabhu speak about Srila Prabhupada was certainly most inspiring and heart-warming to hear about how Srila Prabhupada lived. If you have not already seen it, please visit http://www.acharyathemovie.com
