Festival of India is ushering into the modern age. Through the years, we have learned a lot about displays and have so far stuck with one particular style of exhibit because of its durability. About 7 years ago, we debuted a new "Who Is Prabhupada" exhibit. We've gone from allen screws to ball bearing pins, heavy duty plywood to printed applique's on rigid metal, and hand painting to photoshop. In the next few years we plan to present all the great information that Srila Prabhupada has given us, but in a new and fresh light. Unchanged in message, yet dynamic in presentation. A preliminary design of our panels can be seen in the three pictures on this page.
Countless devotee-hours have been spent trying to figure out better ways to do this. So far we're going to be working with a rigid, space-age polymer plastic that will be more light weight and as durable. We are working on an interchanging system that we can swap out displays as well. This will allow increased surface area and possibly doubling the amount of panels we have. We will have increased surface area by having double sided displays-same square footage but double coverage. This year we are focusing on the Bhagavad Gita As It Is display.
A professional devotee design team has been working on the actual design work which is almost finished. The next phase would be printing and finally we have a crack team of Festival of India crewman to assemble them and inspect them to perfection. We have attached here four sample panels for your pleasure.
Our current exhibit is over 25 years old. Its weathered many storms and been responsible for distributing tens of thousands of Srila Prabhupada's books. It is now time for us to retire it. For only $7500 we can have 7 two sided panels and pave the way for our next venture- the much needed renovation of the Vegetarianism exhibit. The new Bhagavad Gita exhibit will also feature 25+ color photos illustrating Krishna's instructions via Prabhupada to a new generation.
Please dig down and see what you can offer up. All efforts count and it is with our cumulative efforts that we will continue to make this traveling festival program a successful service offering to Srila Prabhupada. If chanting Hare Krishna, reading Prabhupada's books, or one of our humble festival endeavors has inspired you in any capacity through the years, then know that it will help someone else to discover the efficacy of Krishna Consciousness. Help us help the whole world and try to Donate for this worthy cause.
